Watching a sunset to the west, across the sea from Lands End in Cornwall, prompted this poem in trying to capture those magnificent colours.

A fourteen line typical English Sonnet.

THE SUNSET AT LAND'S END

By Len A.Hynds

The golden sun, sets in the Western sky,
slowly sinking, beneath a silver sea,
as yet another day of life goes by,
across the heavens and away from me

Those sun - rimmed clouds, just seemed to fly,
with colours changing, for all to see
and purplish reds and yellows try,
to show us all before they flee.

Such beauty of those clouds on high,
and distant waves, with mystery,
reflect those clouds up in the sky,
as the golden sun, sinks neath the sea.

Oh such colour in the heavens high,
is it a portrait, just for me.
